Shop alongside a veterinary clinic A shop next to the clinic
on the same account.
In VetiCloud a shop alongside a veterinary clinic runs as a separate site on the same account. It has its own touchscreen till, stock and team, and it appears as a separate line next to the clinic in the owner’s financial overview and statistics.
- A separate siteits own stock, till and team on the clinic account
- Touchscreen tillproduct tiles with stock levels and a full-screen barcode scanner
- A separate resultthe shop’s revenue, costs and margin next to the clinic in the owner’s overview
Many clinics sell prescription diets and accessories, and some run a separate pet shop next to the consult room. Usually that means a second till program, a second stock list in a spreadsheet and the shop’s result mixed in with the clinic’s or worked out separately by the accountant. The owner then does not know whether the shop makes money or just turns stock over.
In VetiCloud the shop is added in the same owner panel as a site of the “Shop” type. After signing in, a shop employee goes straight to the touchscreen till, without patient records or a diary, which a shop does not need. Staff discounts, VAT rates and batch dispensing work in the shop just as in the clinic.
How it works
-
01
Touchscreen till with a scanner
Product tiles show the stock level by colour, and the barcode scanner works across the whole screen, without clicking into a field. Cash opens a keypad with the change calculated as you go, and card payments are recorded straight away.
-
02
The shop’s own stock
Goods receipts, wholesaler orders and stocktakes work just as in the clinic’s inventory. The shop has separate stock levels, so food on the shop shelf does not get mixed up with the consult room’s supplies.
-
03
Invoices, receipts and the till
The shop issues receipts and invoices, runs till shifts with reports and records purchase invoices like any other site. It also has its own team and rota.
-
04
A separate result in the overview
In the owner’s financial overview and statistics the shop appears as a separate line next to the clinic. You can see its revenue, costs and margin, not just the till takings at the end of the day.
The recommended diet, bought next door to the consult room
The owner of a cat with a food allergy leaves the consult room with a recommendation for a hypoallergenic diet and goes into the shop next door. The shop assistant scans the bag, the tile on the till shows that there are two more left in the shop, and the owner pays by card. The receipt takes the item off the shop’s stock, not the consult room’s. In the evening the owner sees the shop’s takings next to the clinic’s revenue, and on Monday orders the food from the supplier from the shop’s stock screen.
Questions and answers
Your question is not here? Call us: +48 222 992 995
How do I run a shop alongside a veterinary clinic in one program?
The owner adds a new site of the “Shop” type in the panel. The shop gets its own till, stock and team, and works on the same account as the clinic.
Can a clinic sell pet food without a separate shop?
Yes. Reception sells food and accessories from the clinic’s stock as direct sales, and a purchase assigned to an animal is visible on its record.
Can the shop see the clinic’s patient records?
No. The shop has no patients, visits or diary, so a shop employee does not look at medical records.
Does the barcode scanner work in the shop?
Yes. Scanning works across the whole till screen without clicking into the code field, and the item drops into the basket just as when searched for by hand.
Can clinic staff buy in the shop at a discount?
Yes. Staff discounts work in the shop just as in the clinic.
