Veterinary lab results in the patient record Last year’s creatinine
next to today’s.

Lab results in the patient record line up into a trend for each parameter, with the reference range and results from other clinics. Results from labs and from analysers in the clinic fill in the result’s parameters by themselves.

  • Labs and analysersresults from the in-clinic analyser or by email
  • PDF and XMLresults from the lab and the analyser loaded into the test template
  • Undo importa result assigned to the wrong patient leaves the record and goes back to be assigned
How it is today

A single biochemistry result says little. The vet wants to know whether an ALT at the upper limit is new or has been there for two years, and whether creatinine is rising despite the diet. On paper that means spreading several printouts from different labs across the desk, each with a different layout and different units, and scanning them for the same line.

With VetiCloud

In VetiCloud any parameter can be opened as a chart over time, with the reference band, the status and the source of each result, alongside a comparison table with mini charts. Results arrive by themselves: from in-clinic analysers connected to the program, and from labs by email to the clinic’s address. They go into the test template, in the units the clinic reads its ranges in. Manual entry is left for tests that have no file.

Lab results

How it works

  1. 01

A trend instead of a single number

The chart shows the latest measurement, the change since the previous test and the reference band. For a single result, a bar shows where the patient’s value sits within the reference range, both in the preview and on the printout.

  2. 02

    Results arrive by themselves

An analyser in the clinic sends its result straight to the program. Labs send files to the clinic’s own address, and the program assigns them to the right patient. A result that cannot be assigned with confidence waits in the results inbox for a decision.

  3. 03

A result loaded from a file

A PDF from the lab or a file from the analyser fills in the result’s parameters. A format the program does not know yet is saved as a descriptive result with the original attached, and a request to support it is sent straight from the program.

  4. 04

    Antibiogram as a table

A culture result with an S, I or R rating for each antibiotic is laid out as a sensitivity table grouped by antibiotic class, in the result preview and on the printout.

At the recheck

An epileptic Labrador in for a biochemistry check

An epileptic Labrador has been on phenobarbital for three years, so every six months he comes in for a biochemistry check. The lab result arrives by email at the clinic’s address and goes into his record by itself. The vet opens ALP as a trend and sees that it has risen for the third measurement in a row, although it is still within the reference range. Instead of reassuring the owner with one result, she requests bile acids and books an earlier recheck.

Questions and answers

Your question is not here? Call us: +48 222 992 995

Can I see results of tests done at another clinic?

Yes, if that clinic works on VetiCloud and the owner has shared the animal’s records with you. Results from other clinics appear on the same chart, with the source labelled.

Do lab results have to be retyped into the patient record?

No. A result from an in-clinic analyser connected to the program goes into the record by itself. A result sent by email or uploaded as a PDF or XML fills in the parameters by itself, and only tests without a file, for example a quick test, are entered by hand.

Does the program connect to the in-house analyser?

Yes. An analyser connected to the program sends the result straight to the patient record, matched by sample number. A result from an analyser without such a connection is loaded from a file, and for an unusual device we prepare support at the clinic’s request.

What if a result cannot be assigned to a patient?

It waits in the results inbox, where it is assigned to the right record with a single choice. A mistaken assignment can be undone, and the result goes back to the inbox.

Are results available during hospitalisation?

Yes. In the hospitalisation panel a result loads from a file just as on a visit, and a test can be requested straight from the inpatient record.
