Veterinary hospitalisation software The whole stay on the ward
in one record.

Hospitalisation in VetiCloud means one inpatient record for the whole stay: ward rounds with a clinical examination, drug administrations with time and dose, and a bill that adds each further day of the stay by itself.

  • Every 6, 12, 24 or 48 hthe interval, chosen by the clinic, at which a hospital day is added to the bill
  • Time and doserecorded with every drug administration on the ward round
  • Discharge summaryas a PDF at discharge and during the stay, also sent to the owner by email
How it is today

A patient on the ward means several days of records written by different people. On a paper sheet the morning temperature gets lost among drug doses, the night shift adds remarks in the margin, and at discharge someone has to add up the days, the fluids and every ampoule given before the owner hears the total. The small things are the easiest to lose: a drug given at four in the morning with no entry on the bill, or a day nobody remembered.

With VetiCloud

In VetiCloud admitting a patient to the ward opens one hospitalisation with an inpatient record. Every ward round is saved in it like a daily sheet, with the clinical examination, diagnosis and treatment. Parameters from successive rounds line up into charts, drugs come off stock as they are given, and hospital days are added to the bill by themselves. Tests are also requested from the inpatient record, and results loaded from a lab or analyser file go into the same record.

Hospital

How it works

  1. 01

    Admission straight from the visit

The “Admit to hospital” button on a finished visit opens an admission with the patient already filled in, and the stay remembers which visit it came from. On admission you choose the vet in charge and a free kennel, and the reason for admission and the provisional diagnosis stay in the record.

  2. 02

The ward round as a daily sheet

The clinical examination is filled in from the ward template, and temperature, pulse or respiratory rate from successive rounds line up into charts with a trend. A sudden change or a deviation from the trend is flagged before anyone leafs back through the previous days.

  3. 03

    Administrations with time and dose

Each administration of a drug is recorded separately, for example a quarter of a tablet at 08:00 and at 16:00. When the clinic switches on a drug pool for the stay, the unused rest of a tablet or vial carries over to later rounds and is not charged a second time.

  4. 04

Days and drugs on the bill

A hospital day is added by itself every 24 hours or at another interval set by the clinic, and drugs from ward rounds go onto the bill as they are given. Deposits taken during the stay are settled against the cost of treatment at discharge.

On the ward

A cat with chronic kidney disease on fluid therapy

A cat with chronic kidney disease is admitted to the ward straight from the consult room, and the vet enters the provisional diagnosis at admission. In the morning the nurse records the parameters from the template: temperature, body weight and hydration status. On the round the vet orders fluids and an antiemetic in two administrations, at 08:00 and 20:00, each with its time and dose. The night shift leaves a note that the patient will not take food from the hand. On the third day the chart shows a weight loss that is easy to miss in the notes. At discharge the bill already has three days and every administration, and the discharge summary goes to the owner by email together with the test results.

Questions

Questions and answers

Your question is not here? Call us: +48 222 992 995

Does a hospital stay get mixed up with the patient’s visits?

No. A hospitalisation has its own inpatient record with ward rounds, parameters and a bill, and in the patient’s history it shows as a single entry alongside the visits.

Are hospital days charged automatically?

Yes, if the clinic switches this on. A day is added by itself at the set interval or appears as a suggestion at the next ward round, for the vet to approve.

How do you charge for a drug given in quarter tablets?

Each administration is recorded with its time and dose, and the bill gets the quantity calculated according to the product settings. With the drug pool switched on, the rest of the tablet waits for the next administration and is not charged again.

Can the owner get the discharge summary before discharge?

Yes. The discharge summary can be printed or emailed during the stay as well, with the status on a given day, test results and selected attachments from ward rounds.

Can we take a deposit towards hospitalisation?

Yes. A payment before discharge is recorded as a deposit, and discharge settles it against the cost of the stay. Any surplus goes to the owner’s account at the clinic.

Does the program keep track of kennel occupancy?

Yes. On admission only a free kennel can be chosen, and occupied ones are marked with the name of the patient in them.
