Night and weekend surcharges for vet visits Night, Saturday, Sunday
and the right price straight away.
In VetiCloud, night and weekend surcharges for vet visits are applied by themselves. The clinic sets how much more services or products cost at chosen hours and at weekends, and the program raises the prices of those lines on the bill. The daytime price list stays as it is.
- Up to 8 rulesin one clinic, each with its own days, hours and percentage
- Weekends and Sundaysall-day rules for Saturday and Sunday, with their own percentage
- 3 placeswhere the rule applies: the visit bill, sales at the till and online booking
In a clinic with out-of-hours cover, the night price list often exists only in the team’s heads. One vet remembers the higher price, another does not, reception works out the percentage on a calculator and corrects amounts by hand, and on a Sunday nobody is sure which rate applies. An owner who brings in a dog with a GDV at three in the morning pays whatever the person on duty happens to work out.
In VetiCloud the clinic describes higher prices with rules: days of the week, hours or the whole day, and a percentage. When a patient is admitted within such a window, the prices of the covered lines go up by that percentage, so a €150 consultation costs €225 at night. The daytime price list stays as it is, and prices recalculate by themselves after every change to the treatment.
How it works
-
01
A rule instead of memory
The clinic sets up to eight rules, each with days of the week, hours or the whole day, and a percentage. Each rule shows a live worked example, with a €100 price and the price after the increase, so nobody works out percentages in their head.
-
02
A shift across midnight
A rule’s hours can run past midnight, so the night from Friday to Saturday is one rule, not two. The price depends on the time the patient is admitted, not the time the visit ends.
-
03
Services, products or everything
The rule sets what goes up in price: services, drugs, tests or the whole bill. Two rules for the same hours make it possible to raise services by 50% and drugs by 20%.
-
04
Bill, till and booking
The same rule works on the visit bill, for sales at the till and in online booking, where hours with a higher price carry a percentage marker in the grid. A vet or cashier can waive the surcharge in an individual case.
A blocked tomcat just before midnight
On Thursday at 23:40 an owner brings in a tomcat with a urethral obstruction. Reception admits the patient, the vet places a urinary catheter, collects urine for analysis and adds the drugs. The visit started within the window of the rule “Mon–Fri 22:00–06:00, services +50%”, so the consultation and catheterisation appear on the bill at night prices, while the drugs and urinalysis stay at daytime prices. When the vet also adds an IV cannula, it gets the night price too. Reception recalculates nothing.
Questions and answers
Your question is not here? Call us: +48 222 992 995
Is the night surcharge a separate line on the bill?
No. The bill simply shows a higher price for the service or product. The price list stays at daytime prices, and only the visit or receipt lines within the rule’s window get the higher price.
Can services and products go up by different percentages?
Yes. Each rule has its own choice of lines and its own percentage, so the same hours can have, for example, services +50% and drugs +20%.
Can higher prices apply all weekend?
Yes. An all-day rule for Saturday and Sunday covers the whole weekend, and separate rules can have a different percentage for weeknights and for the weekend.
Can the surcharge be waived for a specific patient?
Yes. The vet switches it off on the visit with the “Don’t charge” button, and the cashier with a switch at the till. Prices then go back to daytime ones.
Will the owner know about the higher price before booking?
Yes, if the clinic ticks this in the rule. In online booking, hours with a higher price carry a percentage marker and a short sentence with the rule name.
Which time decides the price?
On the visit bill, the time the patient is admitted; for sales at the till, the time of sale. Changing the visit date and time recalculates prices from scratch.
