Online payment for vet visits The visit paid on the phone,
the bill closed by itself.
Online payment for veterinary visits, in the owner app or from a link in a text message. The money goes straight to the clinic’s account, and the payment appears in the visit billing by itself, with no retyping and no queue at reception.
- Straight to the clinicthe payment goes to the clinic’s account with the payment provider
- One paymentfor several animals seen together, split across their visits in billing
- The clinic decideswhether a deposit for a cancelled appointment is refunded, not the program
The bill for a visit is only ready once reception has added the last items, and meanwhile a queue builds up at the desk. The owner waits with the cat in its carrier. A deposit before major surgery, in turn, has to be agreed over the phone, then found on the bank statement and matched to the visit by hand.
In VetiCloud online payment for a visit comes from the owner app or from a link in a text message, straight to the clinic’s account with the payment provider. The payment goes into the billing by itself: a deposit is credited towards the visit, and payment after the visit closes the bill without reception having to step in.
How it works
-
01
Deposit when booking
The clinic can require a deposit for visits booked online. The owner sees the amount before booking and pays in the app or on the website, and a slot nobody has paid for is released by itself.
-
02
Deposit request with a deadline
Before major surgery reception sends a deposit request by text message with a payment link. The request has a deadline, one day by default, which the clinic can change in the settings, and if the owner does not pay in time, the visit is cancelled by itself.
-
03
Payment after the visit from the phone
When the visit is finished and the bill has an amount due, the owner gets a notification and pays in the app. The notification arrives shortly after the visit, once the bill is complete.
-
04
The payment goes into billing by itself
The payment appears in the visit’s payment history, and when it covers the whole bill, the visit changes its status to “Settled” by itself. An overpayment, for example after an extra cash payment, goes back to the owner the same way they paid.
The bill paid before the owner reaches reception
An older hyperthyroid cat comes in for a recheck with a T4 test and a blood pressure measurement. The booking deposit is already on the bill. The vet finishes the visit and adds a prescription diet, and a moment later the owner gets a notification: visit finished, €164 to pay. She pays by card in the app on her way out of the consult room, so she does not queue at the till. The payment appears in the visit’s payment history, and reception sees the bill with the status “Settled”, issues the receipt and says goodbye.

How does an owner pay for a vet visit online?
In the VetiCloud Pet app or from a link in a text message, using the methods the clinic has enabled with its payment provider, for example by card. Before paying they see the clinic’s details, the payment reference and the amount.
Does the money pass through VetiCloud?
No. The payment goes straight to the clinic’s account with the payment provider, and VetiCloud does not store card details.
Does an online payment have to be entered into the visit billing by hand?
No. A deposit is credited towards the visit by itself, and payment after the visit goes straight into the payment history.
What happens to the deposit if the visit is cancelled?
The clinic decides on a refund. The payment goes onto the “Payments to decide” list, where it can be kept or refunded to the owner the same way they paid.
Does an online payment go into the cash-up report?
No, because it does not pass through the clinic’s cash drawer or card terminal. It is shown in the visit’s payment history and on the list of online payments.
Can payment after the visit be switched off?
Yes. The clinic owner has a separate “Payment after the visit” switch, and switching it off means billing only at reception, with no payment button in the app.
